Who They Are
R4Creating is a nonprofit organization with a mission focused on increasing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) opportunities for students. Despite its official nonprofit status being established in 2016, R4Creating's volunteers have been actively supporting STEM initiatives in their community and across the country since 2005. The organization's roots trace back to R4Robotics, a community-based robotics team consisting of approximately 40 students aged 10 to 18.
Since its inception, R4Creating has been dedicated to engaging youth in STEM education through various means, including competitions, leadership roles, and entrepreneurial pursuits. The organization's primary goal is to harness the natural curiosity and energy of young individuals, enabling them to achieve extraordinary feats and unlock their full potential.
What They Do
R4Creating has developed a comprehensive STEM pipeline process that guides students through four distinct levels of development, leading to academic, personal, and career success. The organization's approach emphasizes independence and offers a range of programs to create a competitive advantage for students. They also provide valuable resources to schools and STEM coaches to support students throughout their journey within the pipeline. R4Creating's ultimate vision is to impact entire communities by ensuring that students emerge from this pipeline with valuable experience and a clear sense of career direction.
The four levels of the STEM pipeline include introduction and exploration, experiences and learning, application and practice, and finally, the launch phase, which focuses on career readiness and development. Through workshops, internships, competitions, and various forms of support, R4Creating helps students navigate this transformative path toward successful STEM careers.
R4Creating actively engages in a range of activities to fulfill its mission. The organization offers award-winning STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs for children between the ages of 6 and 18. These programs emphasize teamwork, hard work, and hands-on learning, particularly through robotics competitions.
R4Creating also plays a crucial role in building stronger communities through collaboration. They organize events like the Labor Day STEM Festival, host statewide VEX IQ robotics competitions, and provide opportunities for trained youth STEM talent to serve as interns and employees. The organization supports robotics coaches with training, participates in professional events, and offers volunteer opportunities to support youth.
Additionally, R4Creating is involved in various annual events and actively contributes to STEAM education by connecting educators with valuable resources and promoting the growth of STEM education and enrichment through robotics teams and a Robotics Leadership Academy.
How We’re Helping
