Ohio Valley Voices (OVV) was founded two decades ago with the mission to teach children who are deaf and hard of hearing to speak. OVV is one of only a few organizations in the world that fully embraces a child’s brain’s capabilities of turning silence into speech. This, combined with a loving environment, data-driven techniques, and a committed teaching team, has delivered miraculous outcomes to hundreds of families.
The OVV environment accepts all children of all backgrounds and has never turned a family away for financial reasons. The classrooms are an inclusive and diverse blend of youngsters from across the region, country, and world.
All of OVV’s Listening and Spoken Language Providers are LSLS certified or in the process of receiving their certification. An expert staff consistently delivers results that are among the best in the United States. Family is an important part of a child’s life, and each child’s family is a vital part of that child’s language growth.
Ohio Valley Voices is committed to providing each family with an individualized program. Children develop critical communication and interpersonal skills through small group instruction in a personalized setting. Ohio Valley Voices is a program licensed by the Ohio Department of Education and holds Early Intervention licensure.
OVV offers numerous programs including a Parent-Infant program, a Toddler Program, a Preschool Program, and an Early Elementary Program for kids from kindergarten to second grade. They also have on-site audiology services to current students and graduates and offer Summer Programs and Summer Camps for kids ages 3-12.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Ohio Valley Voices relies on donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations every year.
